My parents filed a chapter 7 in 2001. In 2005, my mom was in a serious accident leaving her disabled and unable to work. As a result in 2006 they lost their home to foreclosure. They are wanting to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy to rid themselves of the remainder of the medical bills and the difference they owe on their foreclosed home. Unfortunately they cannot afford an attorney and want me to file it for them. I was going to buy software online, but I was hoping someone with experience would be able to point me in the right direction. Also, how much are the filing costs for bankruptcy (chapter 7) in Ohio? Currently their debt exceeds their income.
i have tried to have my current mortgage co help me with this…. however they only respond with ” it only goes into effect on or about sept, oct… i believe the bill was intended for those who are currently in the foreclosure process..
county sent me a real estate tax bill (a grand) for a house that’s to be on foreclosure, and ive filed bankruptcy, so will they adjust this bill for me…? i was behind on mortg. pymt since may this year. will i owe this to the co. and if so until someone buys the house?
Congress has just approved and signed into law a housing bill that aims to boost the struggling housing market… to bail out Freddi and Fanni. Our goverment will give “unchecked” authroity to prop up the two companies who own half 12 trillion dollars of mortgage backed stocks!!! Biggest bail out in history by congress and the president - this will give “400 homeowners” that are facing foreclosure - BUT Is this a “get out of jail free card”?? The government is using public money, our tax dollars to save private property… when the government spends money, they are writing a check with YOUR MONEY!!! By signing this bill they have raised the national debt once again…
As a renter or a responsible homeowners… are you upset to pick up the tab for irresponsible homeowners and private corporations???
Your thoughts…

I have always been preached and drilled in my head as a business owner to always find the “root cause” of any problem, and to look deeper than the initial problem… As I look back when i rode the waves with the rest of the speculative investors in the boom of the tech cycle in the late 90’s and the realestate bubble in the early 2000’s… you begin to wonder what the true cause or the root problem is… i’m a firm believer that our monterey policies has caused this…
Next question… is it to late to fix this problem? Should we not be more concerned about our monterey polices and the consequence it will bring???
My mother is disabled and she lives in an association. The association dues just came out and they are astronomical. There is no way she can pay them.
Can they put a lien on her house and then foreclose over a $1,000 bill?
The Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Foreclosure Bill. I think it’s S.2636. If it isn’t please correct me. But is there a place I can go to see who voted for or against that bill?
My home is in foreclosure the sheriff sale is in 3 weeks. W e contacted the mortage company and they said to call in 3 days with all of our bill amounts and to be as accurate as possible, and we have to pay to have our mortage reinstated. Does anyone know how much that can cost
The house is not on the market and the bank claims they have no record of the house, but they are paying the taxes on the house and the city forestry bills when the city cuts the grass. How do I go about getting this house. It is falling apart and I can’t get a straight answer from anyone. Wells fargo bank is on the deed as owners and they are paying all the bills……..
I have never lived beyond my means. I pay my bills on time including my mortgage. I have 3 neighbors who let their house go into foreclosure and yet they all drive the newest cars and have toys like boats and jet ski’s. And by the way they just got back from vacation in Hawaii. I think the government should reward homeowners who pay their taxes and mortgages on time. And don’t try to tell me these people were conned by loan companies. They knew exactly what they were getting into.
