To hire someone to do a loan modification for you?

loan modification

I was wondering if it was really worth my money to hire someone to do a loan modification for me.

Then,

Is it better to hire a lawyer or a regular company?

I know I could do this myself but would I have a better advatange plus would the bank be more willing to give a better modification if I hire a lawyer to help me?

Also, would it make the process go fast if you hired someone to help you? The bank tells me it could take 60 days.

So far the Better Business Bureau has not been able to identify a single legitimate company in the US that does loan modifications. Not one. So far they are all running scams.

If you think you found a real one you should verify that with both the real estate board and with the BBB.

    Why would you hire either?

Work woth your lender. That is what they do. They have no incentive to take your payment and run. NO outside agent is going to speed up a modification in an economy where there are millions going on.

What is an attorney going to do for you?

There is no law that has been passed requiring a bank to modify a loan.

This is a rampant scam right now…find one that will say they will take your money AFTER they get the loan modified if they are so sure they can do it.

Bet you won’t find one that will guarantee it either.

PS: The Real Estate Board has NO jurisdiction on loan modification companies….none. The Secretary of State does…the BBB does not render a company legitimate or not…they only keep files on if customer complaints are handled and they are a NON-ENFORCEMENT entity…they don’t have the authority to pull a license or fine a business or collect money on you behalf.
