I have been talking toa lot of companies even law firms that specialize in loan modifications but they are all charging between $2500 and $4000, and they require half up front or the whole fee upfront! A good (reliable) refferal would be appreciated??

I was wondering if it was really worth my money to hire someone to do a loan modification for me.
Then,
Is it better to hire a lawyer or a regular company?
I know I could do this myself but would I have a better advatange plus would the bank be more willing to give a better modification if I hire a lawyer to help me?
Also, would it make the process go fast if you hired someone to help you? The bank tells me it could take 60 days.

Does anyone know of any insurance carriers that offer personal property insurance covering laptops. I already checked with Apple and they do not offer it. Thanks in advance.

I recently paid off a home equity loan. Now the lender sent me a letter saying I need to pay them a fee of $43.50 because that’s what the County Recorder of Deeds is charging to release the lien on my property.
This doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not a mortgage. I’m just borrowing against the house. Why is there a lien to be released? I still have 15 years left on my mortgage.

If someone needs a mortgage loan modification and debt reduction assistance… where do they get started and do they know the firms are reputable?

For almost two months I have asked my bank to help me with the loan modification that I know I’m eligible for. They continue to blame Freddie Mac for the failure to get paperwork of any great value out to me. I want to contact whatever branch of government is responsible for this modification and get my bank off their ass…

My co-worker and I were talking and she wants to buy a house but she says her credit score is like 502, as low as it can go right! But she has a good job (now) and is working to clean up her credit report. There’s a condo she wants to buy but she’s afraid she’ll get laughed out of the loan department with her bad credit. Is it possible for her to get approved?

If someone who has a reverse mortgage, and has been receiving payments for a few years, passes away before they are able to receive the full value for their home, what happens next? I think that what happens is the property is sold by the estate and the balance owed on the mortgage is paid from the proceeds of sale, but I need to find out where this is in writing. Is there a statute or code somewhere regarding reverse mortgages? Thanks!

had their loan modification completed and not have to pay these fees. Should I negotiate that. The back payments accumulated by the adjustment of my interest rate.
